SHILLONG, Dec 6: MLA candidate from East Shillong Avner Medon Pariat on Tuesday announced that he will contest the upcoming Assembly elections on a VPP ticket.
Speaking to media persons here, Pariat said he has chosen the Voice of the People’s Party (VPP) since his ideology and objective jell with that of the party’s.
Informing that he was earlier planning to contest as an Independent candidate, Pariat said, “Now, I will be working to strengthen the party. I am also ready to work to achieve the ideology and objective of the party.”
Meanwhile, he also said there are many areas that need immediate attention, some of which include the healthcare sector and the issue of unemployment among youths.
Earlier, Pariat had announced that he would fight the 2023 Assembly elections from New Dawn Meghalaya (NDM).
