The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Wednesday formally joined National Federation for the New States (NFNS) during its executive meeting. The party not only backed the demand for the creation of new states in India but has also demanded creation of Khasi and Jaintia Hill State.

Cleaning drive
As part of the 50th statehood celebration and Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, the Dorbar Shnong Laban will organise a cleaning drive on Saturday from 8 am to 12 noon. In this regard, the locals have been asked to take part in the cleaning drive. Entry of vehicles, too, has been prohibited in the locality during the cleaning drive.

Office-bearers
Kynjat Phutbol Sports and Cultural Club, in its recent general meeting convened by the Dorbar Shnong of Riat Laban Kynjah Phutbol, has elected new office-bearers. The newly elected members of the club include Hubert Kharlukhi as president, Deibor Warbah as vice president, Teilang Kharmawphlang as secretary, among others.

Meeting
The Executive Committee of the Seng Ki Nongdie Kot Khubor will hold its general meeting at 3 pm on December 20 at the Khasi National Dorbar Hall, Mawkhar.
