Base laid for road in Nongstoin

NONGSTOIN, Dec 19: The foundation stone for construction of the road measuring around 1 km from Nongsoin College junction to the permanent campus of Rev. S Wollington Children’s Home of the KJP Synod Sepngi in Nongpyndeng village was laid by Nongstoin MLA Macmillan Byrsat on Monday.
The road has been sanctioned under the scheme which covers upgrade and improvement of the internal road of Nongstoin Town at an estimated cost of Rs 129.86 lakh and will be implemented by the Meghalaya Integrated Transport Project (MITP).
The Nongstoin MLA also handed over the vehicle funded by the Chief Minister Special Development Fund to Rev. S Wollington Children’s Home.
Others who were present include West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner Garod LSN Dykes, W Shabong District Child Protection Officer, and officers from the PWD, pastors of the KJP Synod Sepngi among others.
