India may bid for Olympic Games 2036

NEW DELHI, Dec 27: India is likely to bid for hosting the Olympic Games in 2036.
A roadmap will be presented before the full members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) during the IOC session in Mumbai in September 2023, Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur said.
He said the government will back the Indian Olympic Association’s bid to host the Games in Ahmedabad.
India has previously hosted the 1982 Asian Games and 2010 Commonwealth Games and the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup held in October this year. (Agencies)
