Dalmia picks students from NEHU during recruitment

SHILLONG, Dec 29: Dalmia Cement conducted a campus recruitment and apprenticeship drive at North-Eastern Hill University campus, Shillong, on Tuesday.
During a daylong interview, top officials from Dalmia Bharat Limited including Dinesh Kr Bhardwaj, Plant Head HR (GM), Vinod Kr. Singh, Technical Head (GM), Anil Kumar, Quality Head (DGM), and Shyam Kalita, Talent Acquisition Lead Regional office, Guwahati, were present. The company selected seven candidates after rigorous process of interview. The selected students were from a wide range of courses like Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Technology, and Chemistry. Another 15 students were shortlisted from the final year batch. The students turned up in large numbers in spite of the ongoing winter vacation and festive season.
The campus recruitment and apprenticeship drive are the initiatives started by the Vice Chancellor of NEHU.
In an effort to revive the old glory of NEHU and take the university to higher echelons, Prof Prabha Shankar Shukla, the NEHU Vice Chancellor played a key role in arranging the recruitment drive.
He also thanked the Meghalaya Cement Association headed by RK Pareek, president of Meghalaya Cements Limited for cooperating with NEHU and recruiting the NEHU graduates.
He also mentioned that NEHU is in the advance stage of signing MoUs with cement industries of Meghalaya to encourage research, skill development, internships and apprenticeship. On the other hand, Dalmia Cement assured the NEHU authorities that recruitment drives for the next batch in 2023-mid will be conducted.
