Power bills
In order to streamline revenue collection and reconciliation of the bill collection process, the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) management has decided that power bills worth Rs 10 lakh and above will be accepted only through RTGS/NEFT mode. However, payment made through online modes such as net banking, credit cards and debit cards shall be considered at par with RTGS/NEFT for this purpose. In order to avoid inconvenience to the consumers, the MeECL has said that the arrangements of offline and online (RTGS/NEFT) mode made for the above category will run concurrently for a period of a month (till January 31, 2023).
Agri fair
The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam, has been given the opportunity to organise the Regional Agriculture Fair (RAF) by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare. The institute will be organising the ‘North East Krishi Kumbh 2023’ and celebrating the 49th Foundation Day of the Institute from January 4 to 6. Farmers, entrepreneurs, and scientists from all the Northeastern states will participate in the programme.
