SHILLONG, Jan 4: Suspended Congress legislator PT Sawkmie, who is all set to join the UDP, on Wednesday lashed out at MPCC president Vincent H Pala’s statement against regional parties and stated that the Congress president had become desperate.
Pala had, on Tuesday, slammed the regional parties in the state for blindly following the BJP and remaining oblivious to their wrongdoings.
“The statement given by the MPCC president against the regional parties including the UDP reflects his desperation since the Congress has lost ground in Meghalaya,” Sawkmie said.
The Mawlai MLA also pointed out that Pala was frustrated since he is set to contest the election from Sutnga-Saipung against a UDP candidate who is very strong.
