Mukul to contest poll from Songsak, Tikrikilla LACs

Shillong, Jan 6: Former Chief Minister, Dr Mukul Sangma will contesting the next Assembly election in Meghalaya from Songsak and Tikrikilla LACs.

TMC Meghalaya president Charles Pyngrope on Friday announced the names of the party candidates in the 52 seats in the first list.

Pyngrope who is the sitting MLA will be contesting from Nongthymmai constituency while party vice-president and sitting MLA, George B. Lyngdoh will contest from Umroi.

Dr Mukul’s Sangma wife Dikkanchi D. Shira will be contesting from Mahendraganj, his daughter Miani D. Shira from Ampati and his younger brother, Zenith M. Sangma from Rangsakona.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister close aide—Winnerson D. Sangm and Lazarus M. Sangma will contest from Salmanpara and Chokpot respectively.

Former MLA, SG Eastamur Mominin who has deserted the NPP,  will be contesting from Phulbari.

The sitting JHADC MDC, Andrew Shullai will be contesting from Jowai.

The six GHADC MDCs who featured in the list, include sitting MDC Cherak Watre Momin from Kharkutta, Pardinand D. Shira from Mendipathar, Rinaldo K. Sangma from Resubelpara, Agassi R Marak from Selsella, Alphonsush R Marak from Williamnagar and Sadhiarani M Sangma from Gambegre.

The party is yet to release the name of the candidates from the eight constituencies including Raliang, Nartiang, Sutnga-Saipung, Nongpoh, Mawlai, East Shillong, Mairang and Mawthadraishan.

“We will be releasing the names of the candidates of the remaining eight seats shortly,” Pyngrope added.

The names of the other candidates who featured in the first list include Lasting Suchiang (Mookaiaw), Sunida Bareh (Khliehriat), Aiban Gashnga (Amlarem), Saralin Dorphang (Mawhati), Sunmoon D Marak (Jirang), Gilbert Nongrum (Umsning), Banshanlang Lawai (Mawryngkneng), Samborlang Diengdoh (Pynthorumkhrah), Elgiva Gwyneth Rynjah (North Shillong), Iwan Maria (West Shillong), Ian A Lyngdoh Nongkynrih (South Shillong), Gilbert Guidingstar Laloo (Mylliem), Joannes Jefferson Tyler Lamphrang Lamare (Nongkrem), Stodingstar Thabah (Sohiong), Mawkordor Rynjah (Mawphlang), Vincent T Sangma (Mawsynram), Playness Khiewtam (Shella), Edmund Khongngai (Pynursla), Harold Firming Khongsit (Sohra), Dondor Marbaniang (Mawkynrew), Macmillan Kharbani (Nongstoin), Sounder Strong Cajee (Mawkyrwat), Justine G. Sangma (Mawshynrut), Savio Phrangsngi Dkhar (Ranikor),Tengrak R. Marak (Bajengdoba), Sengnam M Marak (Rongjeng) , Dr Prabir D Sangma (Raksamgre), Dr Mohammed Mizanur Rahamankazi (Rajabala), Rupa M Marak (Dadengre), Rupert M Sangma (North Tura), Richard Mrong Marak (South Tura), Sengkal A Sangma (Dalu), Dr Rajesh M Marak (Rongara-Siju) and Dr Saljagringrang R Marak (Baghmara).
