Nongsiej releases report card citing performance

SHILLONG, Jan 5: UDP MLA from Mawthadraishan H Brolding Nongsiej on Thursday released his report card on the work undertaken by him in the last five years.
The report card was released during a public rally at Kynshi village, which was attended by more than 10,000 people.
As per the report, Nongsiej has initiated developmental projects and schemes worth Rs 237 crore in the constituency, which include Special Rural Works Programme (SRWP), as well as state and central schemes.
Among the schemes that have been sanctioned by him in the capacity of Water Resources Minister include minor irrigation project worth Rs 46.97 crore.
According to the report, a total of Rs 77.25 was sanctioned for the construction and improvement of motorable road and internal road in the constituency besides roads worth Rs 41.01 crore were also constructed through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY).
During the rally, Nongsiej also made various election promises, some of which include establishment of Community Health Centre (CHC), college, coaching centre for educated but unemployed youths, and construction of internal roads in villages under Mawthadraishan Block.
