MAWKYRWAT, Jan 5: Ranikor MLA Pius Marwein on Thursday laid the foundation stone for the construction of a sub-centre at Ngunraw village in South West Khasi Hills in the presence of District Medical & Health Officer (DM&HO) Dr. FR Lartang, officials from the Health department and headmen of different villages.
Addressing the gathering, Lartang informed that the work on the sub-centre, which will be constructed at Rs 55 lakh, should be completed within six months since the same has been handed over to the Dorbar Shnong of Ngunraw village through the Village Health Council (VHC).
On the other hand, Marwein, in his address as the chief guest, expressed his gratitude to the state government for sanctioning the project in Ngunraw village where locals have been waiting for a sub-centre for more than 20 years.
Marwein also asserted that he, in the capacity of an MLA, has been making endeavours for all-round development in Ngunraw village.
Marwein also expressed hope that the work on the sub-centre would be completed within the timeframe due to the involvement of the Dorbar Shnong.
