SHILLONG, Jan 5: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Thursday finally broke his silence on the controversial church scan letter issued by the SP, Special Branch of the Assam Police, and termed the same as unfortunate.
“This is something that is really uncommon and uncalled for,” Sangma said on Thursday.
He was quick to mention that he had seen the clarification by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma wherein he had stated that it was not an instruction given by the Assam government but it was done by the local administration.
Sangma further stated that the Assam CM had assured to look into the matter and revoke the letter.
The CM also expressed disappointment over the attack on churches in Chhattisgarh and the targetted atrocities on Christians.
