SHILLONG, Jan 7: The central government is yet to notify the CBI inquiry into the Mukroh incident, but Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Friday said he will meet the central government in New Delhi to deliberate over the CBI probe in a bid to expedite the process.
On November 22, five Meghalaya residents and one Assam Forest Guard were killed in firing by Assam Police.
Soon after the incident, the state government met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who agreed to the demand for a CBI probe into the incident and assured that a notification would be out soon.
Even the Assam government had called for a CBI inquiry into the incident.
However, over a month has passed but the Centre has not yet notified the CBI probe.
