Union Minister visits Dairy Plant in Tura

Tura, Jan 9: Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Parshottam Rupala on Monday, made a brief stopover and inspected the Dairy Farm at Ganol near Tura, before proceeding to Ampati in South West Garo Hills.

The Union Minister was on his two-day visit and will be visiting the South West Garo Hills District where he will chair a review meeting of different flagship schemes of the Central Government tomorrow.

During the inspection of the Dairy Plant at Ganol, a brief presentation about the ongoing construction of the New Dairy Plant of 10,000 capacity was presented by the Director, Directorate of Dairy Development, Meghalaya Shillong L S Shangpliang. It may be mentioned that the present Dairy Plant caters to about 8,000-capacity of production of milk including other milk products.

The Union Minister was accompanied by Ram Singh, IAS Private Secretary to the Minister and Malika Pandey, Assistant Private Secretary to the Minister.

West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Swapnil Tembe, District AH and Veterinary Officer, Tura West Garo Hills Dr, Alleana R Marak, besides other government officials.
