Iangrai moves SC for bail; state gets notice

SHILLONG, Jan 9: The Supreme Court on Monday issued a notice to the state government after senior police official GK Iangrai moved SC with a bail application.
Iangrai was arrested on charges of diverting funds in the construction of the National Emergency Response System (NERS) building at Sadar Police Station here.
Legal counsel for Iangrai, who filed bail application before the SC on Monday, said that the Court has issued a notice and fixed a returnable date by two weeks.
Earlier, the bail application of Iangrai was rejected twice by the Special Court and even the High Court of Meghalaya.
