SHILLONG, Jan 9: Rajya Sabha member WR Kharlukhi has maintained that although there are tiffs among politicians prior to elections, the dust settles once elections are over.
He, however, informed that select politicians continue to spar even after the conclusion of elections, which, he said, should not be the case.
Kharlukhi said this on Monday while addressing a gathering at a programme, which was organised by the Qualapatty Dorbar Shnong for the commencement of the construction work of the ‘Tribal Cultural Centre’ at Qualapatty.
It may be mentioned that the ‘Tribal Cultural Centre’ is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2.5 crore.
Kharlukhi, in his address, also accentuated the need to complete the project as early as possible.
The programme was also attended by MLA Mohendro Rapsang and MDC Paul Lyngdoh, who also stressed on the timely completion of the project.
