SHILLONG, Jan 15: Ka Thymmei Ka Tynre Ka Tyllong (The Origin, The Essence, The Source) was released on Saturday.
The movie, which was originally released in 2021 with the title Ka Hok Ka Shi Kyntien, was re-released with the current title after it was further enriched with new scenes to give the viewers a broader and deeper understanding of the diversity and depth of the subject.
The movie was release on the first day of the 17th annual convention of the Seng Khynnah of Khasi Seiñ Raij, which was held at Krang village.
Dolloi of Elaka Jowai, Puramon Kynjing, and South West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Gideon Kharmawphlang, jointly released the movie on the occasion.
The movie showcases the divine origins of the Hynnñiewtrep Hynñiawasa, the essence of their spirituality and the pristine source of their vibrant and unique way of life and worship.
The film is a window into the Khasi worldview told through their creation story or origin myth, which preserves their understanding and deep consciousness of divinity within and everywhere.
To understand the Khasis, one must understand the sacred thread that is connected to their origin — U Lum Sohpetbneng — Navel of the Heavens, Navel of the Universe. The sacred thread is the indigenous faith of the land, Niam Khasi – Niamtre.
