Inauguration
Chairperson of State Commission for Protection of Child Rights I Syiem on Wednesday inaugurated the week-long celebration of National Girl Child Week 2023 under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao scheme. The celebration will be undertaken by the Social Welfare department in collaboration with District Task Force, East Khasi Hills. The inaugural programme was also attended by Commissioner & Secretary of Social Welfare department Pravin Bakshi, Director of Social Welfare department DD Shira and East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner SC Sadhu.
Meeting
The Voice of the People Party (VPP) will organise a public meeting on Friday at Iew Mawlong, Nongpoh. During the meeting, VPP candidate Umsning constituency Dr. Ricky AJ Syngkon along with party president Ardent M Basaiawmoit and other party leaders will apprise the public of VPP’s vision, principle and ideology.
Exhibition
As part of 51st Meghalaya Day celebrations, a photo exhibition, viz. Ki Jingkynmaw-Gisik Ra∙ani-Kynmo Tympang’ will be organised from January 19 to 21 at Soso Tham Auditorium, Shillong. The inauguration of the photo exhibition will be held at 2 pm on January 19.
