RPI names 10 candidates in first list for polls

SHILLONG, Jan 20: The Republican Party of India (RPI) on Friday released its first list of party candidates in 10 constituencies for the Assembly polls on February 27.
When contacted, RPI state president John Sohtun said the list was approved by the party’s national president and Union Minister of State, Ramdas Athawale.
“We have not decided the total number of seats we are going to contest. It will depend on the candidate who applies for the party ticket,” Sohtun said.
The 10 candidates include lndrash M Marak (Rangsakona), Panseng R Marak (Dalu), Witjeng N Sangma (Dadenggre), Thoseng Cheba A Sangma (Raksamgre), Jhimcarter M Sangma (Gambegre), Ballengsing Ch Marak (Williamnagar), Sareni Ch Marak (Songsak), Tangseng R Marak (Tikrikilla), Thosengcheba A Sangma (Raksamgre) and Serimina D Marak (Jirang).
