SHILLONG, Jan 27: Ri-iohlang Dhar has once again qualified to be a FIFA assistant referee for 2023.
Dhar, a woman police constable (WPC) in the 1st Meghalaya Police Battalion, first qualified for the role in 2018 and has had to undergo an annual reevaluation to maintain that status.
Her status has taken her all over the country and abroad, including the Philippines for the South East Asian Games, AFC’s Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers in Lebanon, as well as last year’s National Games in Gujarat and North East Olympic Games here in Shillong.
Her commitment and hard work in training and studying for the role while balancing her police duties has paid off in once again being one of India’s FIFA assistant referees.
