Meghalaya to take on Kerala in semis today

SHILLONG, Feb 7: Meghalaya moved into the semifinals of the men’s football event at the Khelo India Youth Games with a 2-1 victory over Karnataka in Indore today.The team had to come from behind after conceding an early goal but won thanks to strikes of their own from Cannyson Kharnaior (40’) and Blanangshngain Khongsdam (68’). Karnataka’s goal was scored through Abhishek SP in the fourth minute. With this win, Meghalaya topped Group B with a total of 7 points. Meghalaya will take on Kerala in the second semifinal on Wednesday at 2:30PM. The other semifinal will be between Punjab and Karnataka.
