ABVP gives exposure to students through SEIL tour

SHILLONG, Feb 9: A total of 16 groups of students from different Northeastern states are participating in the National Integration Tour, Students Experience in Interstate Living-2023 (SEIL-2023), which is being organised by the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).
The annual tour, which is an initiative which has been on for around five decades, began on February 1 and will go on till February 20. It aims at promoting the feeling of oneness among every citizen of India.
Among the 16 groups, three have been named after freedom fighters of Meghalaya — U Tirot Sing, U Kiang Nangbah and Pa Togan Sangma.
During the National Integration Tour, the delegates representing Pa Togan Sangma group had the opportunity to meet Union Ministers Bhupendra Yadav, Sarbananda Sonowal and B Muralidharan.
In their meeting, Yadav shared his experience of SEIL when he was a delegate in the year 1987.
The delegates too shared their knowledge and views on culture, education, resources, geographical conditions of Northeastern states with the Union ministers.
All 16 groups visited different states while staying in the house of host family and visiting prestigious institutes like Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, IIMs etc.
The delegates received first hand information and knowledge as they visited various prestigious institutes, and met eminent personalities from the field of Education, Art and Culture, Sports, Politics etc.
