East Shillong candidates root fir corruption-free government

Shillong, Feb 10: The poll candidates of East Shillong constituency on Friday flagged their vision and priorities if they are elected as an MLA during the common platform organised by Seng Samla Laitumkhrah Pyllun  at the Police Point.

Among the candidates who participated in the common platform included Manuel Bardwar from the Congress, Avner Pariat from Voice of the People’s Party (VPP), Wanpynhun

Kharsyntiew from KAM Meghalaya, Ajay Nongrum from TMC and Romeo Phira Rani from PDF.

Interestingly, NPP candidate, Ampareen Lyngdoh and BJP candidate, Wankitbok Pohshna did not turn up.

The NPP candidate in a letter addressed to the president of Seng Samla Laitumkhrah  informed that she would not be able to attend the meeting due to pre-engagement.

Most of the candidates spoke on the need of a corruption-free government and to improve the civic amenities of the constituency.

Senior journalist, Kyrmenlang Uriah was the moderator of the common platform.
