Ronaldo reaches 500 league goals milestone as Al Nassr hit top spot

MECCA, Feb 10: Cristiano Ronaldo hit yet another milestone as he scored the 500th league goal of his remarkable career in Al Nassr’s 4-0 victory over Al Wehda.
The Portugal captain netted all four goals as his new club moved top of the Saudi Pro League on goal difference.
Fresh from opening his account for Al Nassr in their 2-2 draw with Al Fateh last time out, Ronaldo’s milestone strike came in the 21st minute when he drilled a low shot past Abdulquddus Atiah.
He added a second to double the visitors’ lead five minutes before half-time, latching onto a neat throughball before slotting home.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus forward completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute, before getting his fourth and rounding off a commanding victory just after the hour mark.
Ronaldo and Al Nassr are back in action a week on Friday, when they welcome to Al Taawoun to King Saud University Stadium.
Ronaldo, four days after his 38th birthday, scored twice in each half to help Al Nassr defeat Al Wehda 4-0 in a Saudi Pro League game.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner who starred for Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United joined Al Nassr after the World Cup. The Portugal star signed a contract through June 2025.
Ronaldo had a disappointing World Cup where he was benched in the knockout rounds and left the field in tears after Portugal lost in the quarterfinals to Morocco.

Cristiano Ronaldo is truly off-and-running in Saudi Arabia as the Portuguese superstar bagged a super hat-trick against Al Wehda in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday, February 9.
It marked the 61st hat-trick of the legendary forward’s magnificent career. Ronaldo has now scored 31 hat-tricks since turning 30. After Ronaldo’s latest heroics, his old tweet has resurfaced on social media. After bagging his 60th hat-trick against Norwich City last year, he took to Twitter to claim that it was time for him to break the symmetry. Here’s what the former Manchester United forward wrote:
“30 hat-tricks before 30 and 30 hat-tricks after 30. It’s time to unbalance the scale!”
He has managed to keep his word. Ronaldo’s stunning performance against Al Wehda helped Rudi Garcia’s team earn a 4-0 win. The French coach reacted to Ronaldo’s performance, telling the media after the game,
“Ronaldo has reached a great stage of homogeneity and harmony with his teammates. Over time, his teammates realized what he wanted and when he will score. I think it was a good night for Cristiano Ronaldo because he scored four goals.”
Ronaldo has now scored five goals in four games for Al-Nassr. While he failed to get on the scoresheet in his first two games for the club. the 38-year-old has already made up for lost time. After joining Al-Nassr as a free agent last year, the Portuguese superstar vowed to break records for his new club. Al-Nassr, meanwhile, will return to action on February 17 as they host Al-Tawuoon.Ronaldo now has 311 goals scored for La Liga side Real Madrid,103 for Manchester United 81 goals for Italy’s Juventus and 3 goals for his boyhood club Sporting Lisbon. The Portugese superstar now has 4 goals and counting for Al Nasr. (Agencies)
