SHILLONG, Feb 11: Personnel of BSF Meghalaya Frontier and Meghalaya Police on Friday intercepted three Bangladesh-bound trucks laden with 40 heads of cattle along Muktapur-Amlarem road, West Jaintia Hills.
According to a statement from the BSF, the cattle were brutally crammed in the trucks and were being smuggled to Bangladesh.
In this connection, three smugglers — all residents of Ri-Bhoi — were also apprehended from the spot.
The smugglers and seized items were then handed over to Muktapur Police Outpost for further action.
