Shillong, Feb 13: The police have arrested the owner Raju Barua of Muscle Blaster Gym at Thana Road here, for allegedly molesting a 19-year-old female staff on February 10. The arrest was made after the girl had filed an FIR against Barua at Sadar PS on the same day.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, the 19-year-old female staff alleged that the accused had called her to cabin at the gym and told her she needed oil massage to burn her body fats.

According to the victim, the accused forced himself on her after she had refused to do the oil massage. The victim said that she manages to escape at the time when the accused was washing his hands.

According to her, there has been  pressure from the family members of the  accused especially the wife for a compromise.

“I don’t want to compromise since I am not the only one and  there are many girls who were sexually assaulted by the owner of the gym,” she said.

The victim further informed that she had joined the gym only three days before this incident.

The victim was taken for medical examination to Ganesh Das Hospital on Monday.

It may be recalled Barua was arrested in 2012 for his alleged involvement in prostitution racket.  Based on specific information about the sexual racket in a Galaxy Hotel, a special Meghalaya police team in 2012 had raided the hotel owned by Barua finding seven women and three men behaving suspiciously.
