Star campaigners set to add spice to state polls

SHILLONG, Feb 12: With exactly two weeks left before the state goes to polls on February 27, the BJP, TMC and Congress are set to rope in a host of star campaigners to further raise the mercury in the high-voltage elections.
As per the list submitted to the CEO, Congress will rope in 40 star campaigners, including AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, AICC leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Sachin Pilot, Gaurav Gogoi, Shashi Tharoor, Pawan Khera, Supriya Srinate, Mukul Wasnik, Ashok Gehlot, Bhupesh Baghel, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Jitender Singh, Alka Lamba, Kanhaiya Kumar, Nabam Tuki, Hibi Eden and Milind Deora.
Not to be left behind, the BJP has also submitted a list of 40 star campaigners to the CEO including the names of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP national president JP Nadda, and BJP stalwarts like Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Himanta Biswa Sarma, Sarbananda Sonowal, Kiren Rijiju, Smriti Irani, Sambit Patra, Dharmendra Pradhan, Arjun Munda, G Kishan Reddy, John Barla, Tejasvi Surya, Manoj Tiwari, Nisith Pramanik, Pema Khandu, BL Santhosh, Rituraj Sinha, Raju Bista and Suvendu Adhikari.
The TMC’s campaign will be bolstered by star campaigners like West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee, Mahua Moitra, Derek O’Brien and Saket Gokhale.
