SHILLONG, Feb 13: Meghalaya endured an exhausting day in the field against Vidarbha on the second day of their U-25 Col CK Nayudu Trophy match and then lost four wickets in the last eight overs of play to be placed in a very difficult position.
Vidarbha resumed play today on 129/1, leading by 3 runs over Meghalaya’s first innings total of 126 all out.
Vidarbha completely dominated with the bat today, with two double centuries along the way. A Mokhade made 265 and Danish Malewar 205 not out as Vidarbha made 542/2 declared, giving them a mammoth lead of 416. The only wickets to fall were taken by Anish Charak (1/82) and Manish Sharma (1/161).In their second innings, Meghalaya were battered during the eight overs they faced before stumps and finished the day on 18/4, still trailing by 398 runs.
