SHILLONG, Feb 14: Senior politician and NPP’s candidate from Phulbari, AT Mondal is optimistic that the party would sweep the plains belt of Garo Hills in the February 27 polls.
Sating that he has been on ground zero observing, Mondal claimed that there is an NPP wave in the plain-belt region. When asked if TMC is emerging as a formidable challenge in the region, the NPP candidate said even an independent would pose a challenge in elections.
Talking about the agenda for polls, Mondal said that the plains belt needs road infrastructure, healthcare and improved educational system but the immediate attention must be paid to the subject of employment.
He also emphasised that polls should be held in free and fair spirit even as he renounced violence.
