VPP releases vision document with eye on election

Shillong, Feb 15: The Voice of the People’s Party (VPP) president, Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit on Wednesday released the party vision document for the ensuing Assembly polls in the State.
Talking to reporters after releasing of the vision document, Basaiawmoit said that the VPP is committed to bringing about social, economic, political changes for the betterment of people.
He said that the party has a vision that Meghalaya shall be a state that is  territorially secured and economically developed.
According to him, the state shall have strong and decisive leadership adding that peace and public security will prevail to facilitate all round development of the state.
“We want that politics in the state is based on strong pillars of substantive democracy with essential features of accountability, responsibility, transparency and equity,” he said.

The VPP president further said that the resources of the State shall be distributed equitably based on social equitably based on social justice and shall be sustainably used.

“The traditional land ownership system shall be strengthened and maintained. The environment and the eco system shall be restored and preserved,” Basaiawmoit added.
