NPP member assaulted in city

SHILLONG, Feb 17: NPP West Shillong vice president Rishan Nongsiej was on Friday night reportedly assaulted by miscreants at Garikhana near Kamber Clinic.
Talking to media persons, Nongsiej said he was cornered and attacked by around 8 to 10 people while he was on his way to take his bike following an election meeting.
It has been informed that two people have been apprehended in this connection.
Meanwhile, police said that, as per inputs, a clash between the supporters of NPP and UDP had erupted following a meeting of the NPP at Narsing Akhara.
