Police conduct raids in city, seize drugs & stolen mobile phones

SHILLONG, Feb 19: Police conducted a series of raids at different locations in the city and recovered 23 mobile phones suspected to be stolen, besides a soap case containing suspected heroin weighing 9.65 grams, 26 syringes, multiple empty containers, and around Rs 6,000 in cash.
The police team which conducted the raids was led by SDPO.
In this connection, four persons were apprehended and investigation is under way to bust the interstate gang involved in purchasing and selling stolen mobile phones.
The recovered stolen mobiles will be returned to the rightful owners after legal formalities, a statement issued here said.
