Police bust interstate gang of bike thieves

NONGPOH, Feb 20: Police on Monday busted an interstate gang involved in stealing bikes from different parts of Assam and Meghalaya
The Jorabat Police seized two stolen scooters and two bikes along with the master key and a number plate used in the theft.
Eight persons were arrested who have been identified as Harish Das and Dipu Teran of Sonapur, Dibyajyoti Shaw Ikia of Majuli, Shemphang Shadap of Nongpoh, Maldini Shangpliang, Banraplang Malai, Jodamin Malai and Vicky Malai.
According to the police, this interstate gang had become reason for panic due to the bike thefts in the city for a long time.
