Shillong, Feb 27: On election day, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad Sangma discarded his VIP status as he stood in the queue like a common man for nearly an hour before casting his vote at the polling station in Walbakgre Govt LP School under South Tura Assembly constituency.

Unaccompanied by his security cover, Conrad was accompanied by his mother and sister Agatha Sangma, MP.
