SHILLONG, March 11: After a dismal performance in the recently concluded Assembly polls, the State BJP on Saturday held discussions to discern what went wrong and how the party can be strengthened ahead of the next Assembly polls.
According to party sources, many Congress candidates suggested corrective steps and measures to bolster the party in their respective constituencies for the next elections.
The meeting, however, did not pass any resolution neither did it take any major decisions on the issues raised by the candidates.
It may be mentioned that the BJP contested all 60 seats but won in only two, which were already its stronghold. Even star campaigners like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top BJP leaders could not improve the party’s poll performance.
