Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi get bail in land for job scam

Shillong, March 15: Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief and former Minister of Railways Lalu Prasad Yadav and his wife Rabri Devi got bail from a Delhi court in land for job scam.

The RJD leader and his wife got a bail on personal bond of Rs 50,000. Their daughter Misa Bharti also got bail as the court noted that the CBI which is probing the case has filed charge-sheet without arrests.

14 other accused allegedly involved in the scam appeared before the court. Lalu, Rabri and their daughter Misa Bharti reached the Rouse Avenue Court early today morning. Doctors of Yadav, who recently had a surgery, are likely to appeal before the court for exemption for physical presence on grounds of his medical condition. They will move an appeal for video conferencing.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted several raids at the residences of the family members of Lalu Prasad Yadav in the recent past. Rabri Devi’s statement was also recorded at her Patna residence in Bihar.

The land for jobs case relates to alleged appointments made in the railways in return for land gifted or sold to family members of Yadav family when he was the Railways Minister.
