SHILLONG, March 15: The under-construction 270-metre RCC bridge at Dwar Ksuid on the Shillong Bypass would be opened to traffic by the end of April.
An NHAI official told The Shillong Times that construction work was progressing at a smooth pace and around 70% of the work has been completed.
“We are looking to complete the bridge by the end of April,” the NHAI official said.
The temporary bridge near the permanent one would also be retained after necessary maintenance work.
The Dwar Ksuid bridge had made headlines after it developed cracks a few years go. The government then came up with the idea of a temporary bailey bridge in the area.
