BSF holds medical camp in EJH village

SHILLONG, March 18: As part of its community outreach programmes, BSF Meghalaya Frontier organised a medical camp on Saturday in Umkiang, East Jaintia Hills.
A statement in this regard informed that a total of 18 doctors from various medical institutions, including BSF, not only provided free consultations to the locals but also distributed free medicines.
“Besides organising medical camp, BSF also distributed computers for schools and GYM machinery for youths,” the statement said.
The day-long programme was attended by DIG (Med) Frontier HQ Meghalaya Dr. Jalaj Sinha, Commandant 172 Bn BSF Sanjay Sharma, East Jaintia Hills Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Barnwal, among others.
“BSF is holding such events towards its commitment to help needy people and strengthen the relation between BSF and bordering population,” the statement said.
