US shared intelligence with India over PLA movement in Arunachal Pradesh

Shillong, March 21: United States shared intelligence with India and helped the country by reporting about Chinese incursion in Tawang of Arunachal Pradesh last December, claims report.

The report citing US intelligence sources claims that the incident took place in December last year where the US for the first time provided real-time information to the Indian counterparts about movement of PLA soldiers.

The information shared with Indian authorities included force strength in an area where the Chinese forces were gathering in the area. On December 9, during an incursion bid Indian Army chased away the Chinese soldiers who were trying to enter into the Indian territory. No Indian soldier was injured during the brawl.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had said in Parliament “On 9 December 2022, PLA troops tried to transgress the LAC in the Yangtse area of Tawang sector and unilaterally change the status quo. The Chinese attempt was contested by our troops in a firm and resolute manner”.

Intelligence sharing between India, Israel and US have increased significantly during the past sometime. Both Israel and the US have shared critical information with India about Chinese and Pakistani positions as well as intelligence on terror activities.
