SHILLONG, March 21: The work on three border haats is under way, while proposal has been made for 16 new border haats, Chief Minister Conrad Sangma told the House on the second day of the Budget session here on Tuesday.
Participating in the discussion on Governor’s address, Conrad said, “We strongly feel that trade with Bangladesh is one of the key areas in which we can increase the overall GSDP and our export levels. In turn, we are able to provide the necessary employment and the economic benefit to the people of our state,” he said.
