Shillong, March 24: Even as a massive manhunt launched by the Punjab police to find pro-Khalistan radical leader Amritpal Singh entered its seventh day today, he is still at large.

As per intelligence agencies the separatist leader might try to flee through Nepal border due to which security at the posts along Indo-Nepal border has been tightened.

The Punjab government ordered on Thursday that the mobile internet and SMS services in the districts of Tarn Taran and Ferozepur will be banned until Friday noon.

On Thursday, the Haryana Police detained a woman who is accused of housing Amritpal Singh and his friend Papalpreet Singh at her residence in the Kurukshetra district. The police have detained 207 people so far in connection with the search for Amritpal Singh.

Police informed on Thursday that they had detained another associate of Waris Punjab De head Amritpal Singh in the nation’s capital.

Amit Singh, an insurance agent, was detained by the Delhi and the Punjab police on Tuesday at Tilak Vihar.

Following a massive crackdown that started weeks after a mob stormed an Amritsar police station to seek the release of an associate who had been detained, the radical is now on the run after the Punjab police detained several of his supporters.
