India reports 1890 Covid cases, highest in 149 days

Shillong, March 26: At 1,890 infections on Sunday, India reported highest Coronavirus cases in 149 days.

According to data published on Sunday by the Union Ministry of Health, the number of active Covid-19 cases has also grown to 9,433.

On October 28 last year, 2,208 cases were reported in the nation in a single day.

After seven deaths in the last day, the total death toll has risen to 5,30,831.

Weekly positivity was recorded at 1.29 percent, whereas the daily positivity was 1.56 percent. The total number of Covid cases so far has reached 4.47 crore.

According to the government, the number of active cases is currently 0.02 percent of all infections, and the national Covid-19 recovery rate is 98.79 percent.

4,41,63,883 persons have recovered from the illness, while the case fatality rate has been reported at 1.19 percent.

1,21,147 coronavirus tests were performed during last 24 hours, and 220.65 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have already been provided in the nation as part of the widespread vaccination campaign.

The government is organising a nationwide mock drill for April 10 and 11 to assess hospital preparedness in light of the increase in Covid and seasonal influenza incidence.
