SHILLONG, March 27: UDP MLA from Mairang Metbah Lyngdoh, on Monday, told the House that the newly created Eastern West Khasi Hills has not found a place in the budget estimate presented on the floor of the Assembly recently.
“I don’t know whether this was missed from the mind of the government but the newly created district Eastern West Khasi Hills which was inaugurated in 2021 on November 10 has not been mentioned in the budget estimate,” said Lyngdoh in the House.
Stressing that the intent of creating a new district was to bring the administration closer to the people, the UDP legislator told the government that infrastructure in the new district needs a lot of attention apart from sanction of new posts.
