SHILLONG, March 27: Water supply in the city will be affected for three days from Wednesday with the PHE Department issuing a shutdown notice for 72 hours.
According to the notice, the Department said that on account of stringing of 220 KV DC Killing-Mawngap-New Shillong transmission line at Mawphlang by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, the dedicated 33KV sub-station for Greater Shillong Water Supply at Mawphlang will be affected.
Hence, the pumping operation will be placed under suspension for three days from Wednesday to Friday.
The PHE said that water supply is likely to be restored by April 1.
