Facelift
Since the last few days, the city has been witnessing hectic activities with certain roads being relaid and fresh coats of paints being applied on walls and footpaths.
The occasion being that the city is gearing up to host Sherpas from the G20 members on April 17-18. The meeting will discuss how space partnership programmes can improve the economy of member nations.
Shillong is one among 56 cities to have been selected to play host to the G20 meetings.
With almost two weeks left before the meeting, parts of the city have begun to wear a new look.
The government is leaving nothing to chance in an attempt to ensure the programme in Shillong turns into a successful one and visiting delegates from the member countries leave with a rich and fulfilling experience of the Pine City.

When will we learn? Plastic waste strewn
inside the compound of a transformer in
Laitumkhrah speaks volumes about the
lack of civic sense amongst Shillongites. (ST)
