SHILLONG, April 2: The Meghalaya Congress will continue to organise protests after Lent against the disqualification of AICC leader Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha.
MPCC president, Vincent H. Pala on Sunday said the party will wait for the end of Lent to decide their future course of action.
Pala added that the matter is being taken to the Court and based on the order, a decision will be taken by the state unit.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will challenge his conviction and sentencing in the Surat Sessions Court on Monday, sources said.
The former Congress president has, in his plea, asked the Sessions Court to set aside the Magistrate order convicting him in the defamation case. He also asked for an interim stay on the conviction till the matter is disposed of.
