Shillong, April 4: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has been invited by a seer, Sanjay Das, at Ayodhya’s Hanumangarhi Temple to live with priests there once he leaves his government house, which was given to him as a Member Parliament (MP).

Gandhi was recently asked to vacate the government bungalow after he was expelled from the Lok Parliament and given a two-year sentence in a criminal defamation case by a Gujarat court.

The proposal was interpreted by some as a seer expressing support to Gandhi in a stronghold of the BJP.

Sanjay Das said, “Rahul Gandhi is welcome by the seers of Ayodhya” and offered him a place to live.

Mahant Gyan Das, the seer of Hanumangarhi, left Mahant Sanjay Das as his heir. Sanjay Das is the chief of Sankat Mochan Sena.

Das said that Gandhi is invited to Hanumangarhi campus area.

“Rahul Gandhi needs to travel to Ayodhya, stop by Hanumangarhi, and pray there. He should come and stay in our ashram. We will be pleased to have him” Das said.
