KSU president, general secy look to get re-elected in CEC polls

SHILLONG, April 4: KSU president Lambokstarwell Marngar and its general secretary Donald V Thabah will look to get re-elected on May 6 when the election to the Central Executive Committee (CEC) of the union will be held.
The members who will be retiring include Litigation Secretary, Shemphanglang Daniel Lyngdoh Mawphlang, Assistant Finance Secretary, Rapborlang Nongrum, Assistant Organising Secretary, Ian Gilmore Nonghuloo and two executive members Dakishanlang Zedaiah Malngiang and Vincent Makri.
Talking to reporters, the KSU president said that the term of the present body had ended in February this year. “We have decided to hold the election of the new CEC members on May 6,” he told pressmen.
Meanwhile, he said that they have managed to hear the issues which were put forward by the various presidents and general secretaries of its units.
“We have also discussed the various pending issues whether it is ILP, inclusion of the Khasi language in the Eighth Schedule, relocation of Harijan Colony and so on,” Marngar said.
According to him, they will again pursue all these pending issues once the new CEC members are elected.
