NONGPOH, April 5: The Jorabat police team has achieved a significant breakthrough in the fight against bike thefts in the area. The police team, under the leadership of the outpost in-charge, Kapil Pathak, arrested three bike lifters on Tuesday evening. The trio is said to be involved in multiple bike theft cases in the region.
According to the outpost in-charge, the arrested bike thieves have been identified as Sonrag Sangma, Jameson Marak, and Mukesh Sangma. The police team recovered two bikes (AS-14H-6452 and AS-02AF-0667) from the accused. The bikes were stolen from Byrnihat area.
The police have registered an FIR in this regard and are intensively interrogating the bike lifters.
