Cop held in fake bill case

SHILLONG, April 16: A police constable who was attached with suspended Assistant Inspector-General of Police (A) Gabriel K. Iangrai was arrested on Thursday in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds for procurement of Covid materials.
As per a delayed report, police constable Vicky Biswa was arrested and later remanded in three-day police custody.
A police source revealed that a complaint was lodged against the police constable for preparing fake bills of items which were never procured like sanitisers, PPE kits, masks and other items for distribution to police units.
Another complaint against the police constable is about the alleged disparity in the distribution of Covid items to the police units which were received from several NGOs during the time of the pandemic.
