Happy school in city to groom kids

SHILLONG, April 17: The Rotary Club of Shillong on Monday handed over the Keane’s Kindergarten Happy School.
According to a statement here, the inaugural programme was arranged by the Rotary Club of Shillong and the Managing Committee of the school, and was attended by Director of Education Rosetta Kurbah as the chief guest.
Dedicated in memory of (L) IPS Anil Pradhan, a former president of Rotary Club of Shillong and a dedicated Rotarian, the happy school is equipped with a first-aid room, a vibrant playroom, proper classrooms with beautifully painted walls, secure fencing and proper toilet facilities.
“Education being a primary focus of Rotary, this project is an initiative in that direction. All the criteria of a Happy School was attempted to be fulfilled by this venture, so as to provide a safe, happy and child-friendly environment for children. This attempt of Rotary Club of Shillong is an attempt to provide a beautiful and safe place to nurture and groom children of an impressionable age into happy and responsible citizens,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, Kurbah, while congratulating the Club, highlighted the new education policy, which places huge emphasis on proper guidance and mentoring of children from a very young age.
The president of the Managing Committee of Keane’s Kindergarten and a member of Rotary Club of Shillong, Manas Chaudhuri, spoke on the need to establish more happy schools for the children.
